How would you design The Life Of Pi‘s cover?
The Bridgeman Art Library – which works with museums and galleries across the world to ensure that some of art’s best images are available for reproduction – have announced an exciting new competition to celebrate their 40th birthday.
The nationwide competition will see both original artwork and original literature celebrates as it asks arty types to create alternative cover artwork for five Man Booker Prize-winning novels.
The books that entrants can pick from are The Life Of Pi (Yann Martel), Sacred Hunger (Barry Unsworth), The English Patient (Michael Ondaatje), Schindler’s Ark (Thomas Keneally) and G (John Berger), and artists will be encouraged to delve through the Bridgeman’s extensive art archives to find a new cover representation of their selected book.
The winner will receive all of the 2012 Man Booker long-listed titles, plus their piece of artwork on print or canvas.
The competition closes on 25 September 2012. To be granted temporary access to the Bridgeman Art Library entrants must email Janine.Limb@fourcolmangetty.com with their name, age, telephone number and email address.
