Tell us a bit about yourself…
I’m a UK-based illustrator and self confessed perfectionist, who loves to cut and paste. I’m often found wielding a pair of scissors and a Pritt Stick, although I like to delve into the digital world from time to time. I enjoy working through Collage as it allows me the freedom to experiment without having to commit straight away.
As I mainly work through collage, I often find inspiration through the weird and wonderful images I work with. I’m currently in love with old black & white photographs, mainly for their exciting history and vintage quality. I was even lucky enough to have recently been given a suitcase of family photos dating back to the 1920’s from my Grandad – my idea of collage heaven.
What is your favourite piece of work you have produced?
I’ve recently been working on a series of images entitled Everything Is Beautiful, where I’ve been injecting colour and texture into vintage photographs. One of my favourite pieces from the series is the pigeons in Trafalgar Square, as I feel it brings back a sense of life and energy to the original image. I also enjoyed creating my Head Rush pieces, as they best represent my messed up mind.
I have so many favourite illustrators! But at the moment I’m really enjoying the work of Julia Pott – especially her animations. Also anything collage based usually grabs my attention.
