Tell us a bit about yourself…
I’m a photographer specialising in fashion, beauty & portraits, with a bit of a tea addiction. Currently based in Derby, I work for clients across the UK photographing lookbooks, model portfolios, products and more.
When I’m not behind the camera I can be found baking cakes, playing videogames or tweeting.
What are your inspirations?
Quirky films (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is my all time fave), the music I listen to and the books I read. I also follow a lot of fashion blogs, current trends and street fashion always spur me on.
What is your favourite piece of work you have produced?
That’s a tough one! My latest work always tends to be my favourite as it’s the most recent I’ve created and therefore I’ve had less time to nitpick! I shot Little Peche‘s SS12 collection and I’m so pleased with the result. I also worked with Amy Allwright & A Dozen Eggs at the end of 2011, the photos from which haven’t been released just yet, but they include an old farmhouse, pinnies and cake… What’s not to love!
In October 2011 I also helped arrange, and took part in, 24models24hours – a 24 hour photoshoot for Children in Need – with photographer friend of mine, Ewan Mathers. The idea was to shoot with a different model & designer, in a different location around Derby, on the hour every hour. The final 24 images were made into a book – I’m pretty proud of that piece of work!
Autumn de Wilde, without a doubt. Her work has inspired me since I first stumbled across her portraits of Elliott Smith in my teens. I absolutely love fashion photography but I’d jump at the chance to photograph the musicians, artists and writers I admire.
