REVIEW: Everything Oz – The Wizard Book Of Makes & Bakes

If you love all things craft, then this really is the book for you.

Crammed full of eye-popping colour, gorgeous typography and charming photography, it is the ultimate tribute to the classic film. There’s no place like home this book to inspire your creative urges.

The brainchild of journalists Christine Leech and Hannah Read-Baldrey – who met whilst both working at craft magazine Hobbycraft and last year released Everything Alice: The Wonderland Book Of Makes – it mixes elements of The Wizard Of Oz with numerous crafts, including baking, sewing, metal work, illustration, weaving… The list really is endless.

Favourite projects in the book include the Babies’ Bath Towel (in the shape of a mini flying monkey, obv), Toto’s Cape and Over The Rainbow Cake. You can also make Squashed Witch Cupcakes (yummy), Munchkin Hat Egg Cosies and the Sleepy Time Eyemask – perfect for waking up in and realising that it was all just a dream…) And you can even make your own pair of ruby slippers. SQUEAL.

There are 50 things to make and do in the book, so hop on that yellow brick road and get making.
