Tell us a bit about yourself…

I graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a BSc Hons degree in Textiles for fashion and interiors. I specialised in print design, it’s something I love to do, which is fuelled by my love to draw and paint.

Since I can remember art and design has always been a passion. I have an obsession with interiors and as a hobby I create and sell my own greetings cards. The big dream would be to set up my own design business.

What are your inspirations?

Inspiration for me can come from a lot of things depending on mood and the type of design that different objects can spark. Recent work has stemmed from natural objects such as minerals, rock formations, flowers, and skeleton leaves. I love to look at the more intricate and detailed perspective of an object.

What’s your favourite piece of work you produced?

I think it would have to be some of the products I produced for my final degree show. I’m very proud of my handmade lampshades, which have a devore element to them. The silk fabrics alongside the textured print create a beautiful glow with the light shining through. I also love my textural, hand flocked wallpaper.

Who is your favourite ‘creative’ in your chosen field?

There are so many different types of creatives in my field its hard to choose just one. I do enjoy looking through websites and blogs who hold a collection of different designers such as the print and pattern blog and designers guild. Its a great way to see new talent, different ideas and the way others interpret them.
